Cooking Class or Olive Oil Tasting on Lefkada: Which Farm Experience?
Updated October 22, 2026 · 4 min read
Lefkada’s two farm food experiences come from one farm in Nydri, and the main thing to know before you book is that both pages offer English only. The Lefkada Micro Farm runs two activities on GetYourGuide: the traditional Greek cooking class for €105 with 4.6 stars from 39 reviews, and the olive oil experience for €46 with 4.7 stars from 46 reviews. Both meet at the farm in Nydri.
| Experience | Duration | Price | Rating | Group |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Traditional Greek cooking class | 4 hours | €105 | 4.6 (39) | up to 10 |
| The olive oil experience | 1.5 hours | €46 | 4.7 (46) | up to 25 |
The cooking class
You start in the soil, learn about the farm’s organic and regenerative growing, and harvest seasonal produce. Then you cook in an open-air kitchen with a wood-burning oven, and the group sits down together to eat what it made. The page calls this the “Farmer’s Table”. The price includes cooking utensils and an apron, and the page asks you to report food allergies and dietary restrictions in advance.
The page counts the farm among the Slow Food International farms. It lists the class as wheelchair accessible; as with any such statement, confirm it with the operator before you travel. It states no minimum age, so if you are bringing children, ask.
The olive oil experience
This is a guided walk through the groves, with a tasting. The operator says it teaches how to tell real extra virgin oil from supermarket oil and what the peppery taste of high-polyphenol oil means. The farm says its oil won silver awards in New York in 2025 and 2026, which is the operator’s own claim. The page also lists it as wheelchair accessible and sets a group of up to 25 people with an English guide.
It is the easy way into the farm: a morning, a modest price, and you leave knowing how to read a bottle label. It is a tasting, not a meal.
The language catch
The cooking class page lists English as the only language, and the olive oil page names an English-speaking guide. Italian, German, Dutch, Polish or French speakers should expect to follow in English. In a cooking class with a small group that is usually manageable, but it is a reason to check before you book.
What about wine?
Wine is not the focus of either farm experience. Two other offers mix wine and oil with sightseeing: the half-day olive oil and wine tasting tour for €110, which has 3.0 stars from only 3 reviews, and the waterfalls, winery and olive oil tour at €80, which we describe in Dimosari Waterfalls near Nydri. With so few reviews, read their pages closely. All food and drink offers are collected under food, wine and olive oil on Lefkada.
Our recommendation
Book the olive oil experience if you have one free morning and want something real for €46. Book the cooking class if you like to cook and have half a day; it is the more rounded experience and gives you a meal at the end, but costs more than twice as much. If your group does not speak English, ask the farm what language they can run the session in before choosing either.
